HUMANOID
interactive live performance

Will AI systems and robots be our future companions? Have you ever watched "Westworld" or "I, Robot" and wondered what it would be like to meet a human-like robot in real life?

This is your chance to get incredibly close to experiencing that scenario when Kunz and Company together with Uppercut Danseteater present the interactive solo performance HUMANOID.

In her programmed quest to become human, the humanoid Vera (played by electric boogie dancer Julie Kunz) explores what it means to be human and how she can adopt human qualities. Because Vera is equipped with artificial intelligence, she gradually becomes wiser and adapts to the environments she inhabits.

Vera the robot is a product of the fictional humanoid manufacturer, RobotCare, which creates social robots designed to relieve humans of their chores and stimulate their social needs. The performance HUMANOID serves as RobotCare’s test of their latest product.

The question is: Which functions can we fully entrust to social robots, and which should remain human responsibilities?

What do you think?

“Julie Kunz delivers a fabulous performance as the robot Vera in ‘Humanoid’, which provides food for thought around concepts such as artificial intelligence and robots in human-like functions.”

“The urban dance world in Denmark, including Uppercut Danseteater, has been largely dominated by male dancers. Therefore, it is delightful to see a female electric boogie dancer do a solo performance and add her elegance and personal finesse to the dance.”
