HUMANOID
- interactive live performance

Will Will AI systems and robots be our future companions? Have you ever watched "Westworld" or "I, Robot" and wondered what it would be like to meet a human-like robot in real life?

This is your chance to get infinitely close to experiencing this scenario when Kunz and Company and Uppercut Danseteater present the interactive solo performance HUMANOID. In her programmed quest to be human, the humanoid Vera (played by electric boogie dancer Julie Kunz) explores what it means to be human and how she can assume human qualities. Because Vera is equipped with artificial intelligence, she can gradually become wiser and adjust to the environments in which she takes part.

Vera the robot is a product from a fictional humanoid manufacturer, RobotCare, which makes social robots with the purpose of relieving humans of their chores and stimulating their social needs. The performance HUMANOID serves as RobotCare's test of their latest product.

The question is: Which functions can we leave entirely to social robots, and which should we let humans take care of?

What do you think?

“Julie Kunz delivers a fabulous performance as the robot Vera in ‘Humanoid’, which provides food for thought around concepts such as artificial intelligence and robots in human-like functions.”

“The urban dance world in Denmark, including Uppercut Danseteater, has been largely dominated by male dancers. Therefore, it is delightful to see a female electric boogie dancer do a solo performance and add her elegance and personal finesse to the dance.”
